Volunteers are needed to help Jayden's fundrasing efforts. Ever since Jayden had his transplant no one seems to really want to help. Everyone sees Jayden as a crazy happy baby. So they think he is cured! No more doctors or hospitalizations. We do have Tricare so his hospital bills are payed in full as of right now, but we have to get his Rx's from a mail order pharmacy because on post pharmacy cant compound his medication and some medications he takes are considered "over the counter" and are extremely expensive because Tricare wont cover them at all. we pay around $200 out of pocket a month. This may not be a huge amount but when you add in trips to the clinic that last all day and you factor in meals and gas it begins to add up. Jayden has to see a dentist every 3 months because before transplant he was unable to absorb any vitamins into his system so his teeth became decayed and discolored. Oral hygiene is extremely important to his liver staying healthy. Jayden does not have 100% coverage of Dental through Tricare only my husband does so we have to pay insurance and copays out of pocket COTA also helps us offset the costs of these copays. There is so much more than meets the eye when it comes to transplants. Jayden will have to have medication, and routine blood work, biopsies, and the possibility of rejection never goes away. A transplant is not a cure it is simply (in his Dr's words) "trading one disease for another" The money raised is 100% tax deductible and 100% of the proceeds go to transplant related expenses only! This money is there for Jayden's entire life so if we decide to get out of the military or when Jayden grows up and can no longer be on our insurance then the funds we raise today through COTA will still be there as long as Jayden is living. If Jayden were to god forbid pass away COTA helps us pay a portion of funeral expenses and the rest goes to another COTA family who is in need of funds. So the money raised will always help a child who has had or needs a transplant.

So if you are able to volunteer your time, your efforts, make a donation, or simply pass along the link to his website please do! Thank you very much!
